  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • Hot dogs, cut into 1-1.5 inch pieces
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg and add milk; then pour into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  3. Cut hot dogs into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Heat oil in a deep skillet to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Dip each hot dog piece into the batter, ensuring an even coating.
  6. Fry in batches for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels before serving warm with dipping sauces.
